About the Role
Our client is a VIC government organisation based in Castlemaine victoria. They are currently seeking a Financial Services Coordinator to come in and join their team on a temp contract until 30th October 2026 with possible extensions.
Candidates for this role must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business with demonstrated financial management experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting processes and principles
- Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Excel
Key responsibilities will include:
Leadership & People Development: Lead and mentor the Finance team to drive high performance, managing recruitment, performance reviews, and professional development to ensure a culture of engagement.
Statutory Financial Reporting: Oversee the integrity of the general ledger and the preparation of the Annual Financial Report and all statutory returns to ensure full compliance and meeting of deadlines.
Management Accounting & Budgeting: Coordinate the annual budget and Long-Term Financial Plan, providing timely financial reporting and advice to support strategic decision-making.
Treasury & Investment Management: Manage investment and loan portfolios, including sourcing funding and overseeing all banking software, signatories, and financial delegations.
Asset & Systems Administration: Ensure accurate maintenance of asset registers and lead the continuous improvement and integration of financial software and system upgrades.
Policy, Risk & Operational Oversight: Maintain robust internal controls and finance policies, while overseeing core operations such as Accounts Payable, corporate cards, and financial risk mitigation.
About You
You will be an experienced Finance leader with proven experience and reliability in previous roles.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Business with demonstrated financial management experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting processes and principles
- Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Excel
